Our Vintage Car Event in Virginia is only 4 months away!

Just a quick reminder that our Chasing Pavement Vintage Automotive Festival is just 4 months away!  Make your reservations now before the rush which always happens the month before the show.  Looking forward to seeing all our fans at this Big Event. This show will be in the town of Mathews, Va 23109.

We expect a large British Contingent at our Virginia Event

One of the main components to our car shows every year is the massive turn-out we get from our friends at the British car clubs across the US!  Its always nice to see these marques show up in force.  All Southern British Car Clubs lets keep this tradition going at our Virginia car show this June 1, 2013.  This is a great benefit event!  Looking forward to seeing you all there.

A Challenge for the Virginia/Maryland Viper Club

Viper Club of America

Viper Club, this is the turnout I'm hoping for at our June 1, 2013 event in Virginia!  We always have a strong Viper presence at all our events.  Viper owners have as much passion & commitment to their brand as any enthusiast we've ever seen.  We are fans too here at Vintage Gallery & Vintage TV, we can't wait for the new SRT.  Its nice to see Viper back!  All Viper Clubs are welcome.  We will have photos and invitations to all the other clubs coming in the weeks and months leading up to our Big Show.

Big fundraising event to be held next June in Mathews

Entrepreneur MAC has been successful, and he wants some of that success to rub off on his adopted home of Mathews. On Tuesday, the Mathews Board of Supervisors gave him permission to hold a major fundraising event in June 2013.

A Pennsylvania resident with a second home in Mathews, MAC owns Majic Enterprises, a home design, construction, entertainment and film production conglomerate. He recently purchased the building on Main Street that formerly housed Christie Chevrolet and plans to turn it into a Vintage automobile museum and gallery.

Vintage Gallery will function like an art gallery, said MAC, but everything in it will be for sale—automobiles, pedal cars, motor-bicycles, pinball machines, signs, arcade games, artwork and other Americana. He’ll rotate cars from his warehouse in Pennsylvania on a themed basis, displaying muscle cars, or 1930s-era cars, or all British vehicles.

On June 1, 2013, MAC's plans to hold a vintage car show for at least 150 cars, complete with celebrity appearances and entertainment by a nationally-known band. Vintage's production company, Greenleaf Productions, will create a film about the event that will be shown on cable television, he said, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit local non-profit groups such as the Mathews Volunteer Fire Department. His father, who passed away four months ago, was a New York firefighter, he said, and MAC always seeks to honor him when fundraising.

After purchasing Christie Chevrolet, MAC gutted the building and began landscaping the back lot. He said the structure will retain its original look and feel, with exposed metal rafters, tin roof and brick interior walls.

Neon dealership signs will decorate the ceiling, and sputnik architectural lights will light the gallery. The windows will be replaced with old English-style divided lights, and ivy will grow up the outside walls. An old garage behind the main building will be converted for storage space, he said, while a planned second-floor addition will be office space.

MAC has lots of ideas about helping the Mathews community. He said he’s in favor of the proposed dredging of Put-In Creek and would be willing to donate a quarter of an acre of land to offset lost wetlands in order to get the project done.

"I think it’s something we’re sorely missing," he said. "This is a perfect balance between keeping nostalgia but bringing in new business that allows the younger generation to come in and establish themselves."

Background

Starting in 1986 with his construction business, MAC quickly began to specialize in theme-style spaces—a room with ’50s décor or an Egyptian pyramid-inspired home theater, a Tuscan courtyard or a Parisian salon. Soon, he branched out into entertainment, creating game rooms with commercial arcade games such as vintage pinball machines and touch-screen multi-game machines that he both sold and serviced. He also specializes in such luxury items as homemade bars, koi ponds and wine cellars.

Four years ago, MAC and his wife J.C. (Josephine, "but she never goes by that") were on a boating trip and pulled into Tides Inn in Lancaster County. They loved the area and came back the next weekend to look at property.

While taking the couple around shopping for property, the real estate agent dropped by the Gwynn’s Island Festival to buy her husband lunch, said MAC, and he and his wife "got a taste of the local flavor." On the island, they happened on an open house for a home for sale and fell in love. The couple has spent summers in Mathews ever since.

In three years, the MAC's plan to retire and sell all of their businesses except their film production company. They’ll make Mathews their primary home, and they’ll winter in San Antonio, Texas.

"Considering the hustle and bustle we’re used to, we took to this area," said MAC. "I don’t think I ever cared about the sunset before, but now we sit there in the back yard, watch the sunset and have a glass of wine."

Note:  JC here, I commandeered Mac's blog today to post an excerpt from a front page article he appeared in last month in Virginia.  There will be hell to pay for posting this I'm sure but I wanted our viewers to see Mac's softer side and the things he does behind the scenes to give back to the community whenever he can!  Now if only I could get him to   smile once and a while on camera, lol.

The Circle Drive-in Shoot - Dickson City, Pa

Vintage TV had a Great time filming in Dickson City, Pa at the Circle Drive-in the other day.  Now in there 63rd year what a gem of Americana, they just don't make them like that anymore!  I'd advise anyone who hasn't caught a flick at this Drive-in to put it on your must do list now.  This is the way checking-out a movie should be, relax & watch in vintage style.

Thanks to everyone that made it out for the shoot: Pocono Mt Street Rods, Villa Capri Cruisers, Coasters, Al from AJ's Automotive, Montage Mt Cruisers, Car Lovers Car Show Club, AACA Car Club & a Special Thank you to Mike & JoAnn from Coal Cracker Cruisers without whose help none of this would have been possible!  Its nice to see in this day and age someone going out of there way to help, again Thank you.

This is just the first draft of photos, (in the productions stage we will darken the sky & have a movie image on the big screen to simulate more of a Drive-in atmosphere) check back for updates along-the-way.

Vintage's Photo Journal 2012

Hi Fans,

Here is the blog post you've all been asking for!  Well its not really a blog as much as a photo retrospective of all the shows we've filmed so far in 2012.  They say a "Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words" in this case let's hope so, right!  As we start to edit the TV Show and head into production, we will keep posting pics here of the different shows we filmed.  So check back now and then to see if you or your ride made it on camera?

Update:  49 random pics so far and counting (not in any order) - 10/27/12

Photo: My dogs need this as their next ride. Why should humans have all the fun?            Photo: make up by christina-on set prepping Brendon for his debut    Photo: A big Thanks to Anthony Lammardo- John Gillen & Brendon Abbazio for all your help today!

Look Who We Ran into on Location at DMC: Dennis Gage from My Classic Car!

Photo: JC & Dennis Gage talking Hot Rods.

We were on our way to scout the DMC Show that we were filming on Saturday, so we took a detour because the event coordinators were throwing a Hot Rod party the Wednesday before just down the road in NJ.  Much to our surprise My Classic Car was filming this event.  I've always wanted to meet Dennis, after all we're in the same business except he is a blackbelt & I'm still waiting to get my yellowbelt! lol  What a great guy - we talked shop, cars, hot rods, shows, he gave me some tongue-in-cheek directing advice then followed it with the statement "but what do I know" and he even made fun of my little HD Hero2 GoPro camera.  He said your not going to film me with that are you?  Imagine my embarrisment Dennis Gage my professional idol thinks I film my show with this tiny HD Hero2 camera. UGH!!  I then explained that my film crews weren't coming to NJ till Saturday and I just always carry this little pocket camera with me cause you never know?  To fill my viewers in this is the camera we use for all the driving sequences and in-car videos, (its really a super camera by the way).  Even with all that he was still nice enough to give us a quick interview on camera, that really meant a lot to me since usually people in his position don't take the time out of their busy filming schedule to chat never mind give you an interview.  OK time to go off on a Movie tangent:  Filming Dennis under less than ideal conditions I felt like Will Ferrell's character in the Movie Step Brothers, he said in the movie that the reason he got Randy Jackson from American Idol to sign an unconventional item like his katana sword was "your not gonna not get Randy Jackson's signature are you" that's how I felt filming Dennis that day, it wasn't ideal because of the equipment but I'm not gonna not film Dennis, am I?  Long way to go I know to explain this bit but by now you know me.  So to sum it up; got to see not one but two great Hot Rod parties, filmed one for an episode of Vintage TV and met the MAN himself.  LIFE is GOOD!!!

Note: Below is a picture of the camera in-question, look at how small it is on the front of the surfboard to the left.

Photo: It's not often that someone in Dennis' position takes the time out of his busy filming schedule to talk shop. Thanks again Dennis!

Our Fan's: Doing what they Do, having FUN!!!

It was Great seeing all our fans come out for the Super Cars on State St & Circle Drive-in shoots. We had a super time filming both events. These are our Vintage fans showing their own unique Style.  We love it when our fans turn-out to support us!

*** Nice Vintage T-Shirts by-the-way, you've not only got Style but Spirit too

Vintage's First 5 Best of Show Trophy Winners!

Vintage TV's Best Of Our Show

Our trophy presentation like our show is all based on Emotion!  Each winner has become champion for a different reason.  There is no point system per-se, no judges; our award is always based on both tangible and intangible factors. Then the cast fights it out and when the dust clears we have our winner.

One thing is for sure, they've all deserved Vintage's Best of Show.

*NOTE: The winners photos are in no particular order.

ORDER #2

Vintage TV will be filming on Saturday September 1st from 10AM to 3PM at the Dead Man's Curve Wild Weekend Hot Rod Show in Mahwah, NJ.  This will be our first time for this show but we decided we had to do it after all the positive feedback we received from enthusiast all over the country!  We have never had a show talked up like this before, in fact we we're going to film another show that weekend but then we switch gears to film the DMC.  Our Producers always say give the Viewers what they Want!  So everyone we listened and we're going!!!  This looks to be a Great venue, the grounds look amazing so this should be a super Hot Rod Party.  Also stop by to meet Paul Le Mat of American Graffiti fame.

The Vintage Cast  & the Vintage Girls are looking forward to seeing you all there.

Celebrity episodes: "Memories of your First Ride"

At Vintage TV we are always looking for something uniquely different for our viewers; about      6 months ago we embarked on the start of an episode based around celebrities and the first cars they had before they made it big.  We thought that would be an interesting episode and as a result have compiled many great interviews plus passionate testimony on just how important the automobile is in our lives!  Our first ride is something that is not only a vivid memory but something most of us hold truly dear!  Then I received an email from Jesse who has a really cool blog called "just a car guy" and he had several suggestions for our show, one of them was if I'd ever read a book by Matt Stone titled "My first Car" which was ironic given we were already working on a similar project.  I guess it is really true that there are no original ideas left anymore, lol.  I digress, anyway I read the book and then contacted Matt to see if we could use some of his celebrity stories too, I will let you know how that works out in a later update to this blog?  Now that you have the back story, here is Vintage's take on our episode.

We are going to get as many celebrity stories as we can for this episode and we are always looking for more, so if you have any ideas or have a celebrity that you know who would be interested in being on our show please contact us and we'll try and get their interview for the show.  Of course Vintage will put there own unique twist on this concept.
