The Circle Drive-in Shoot - Dickson City, Pa

Vintage TV had a Great time filming in Dickson City, Pa at the Circle Drive-in the other day.  Now in there 63rd year what a gem of Americana, they just don't make them like that anymore!  I'd advise anyone who hasn't caught a flick at this Drive-in to put it on your must do list now.  This is the way checking-out a movie should be, relax & watch in vintage style.

Thanks to everyone that made it out for the shoot: Pocono Mt Street Rods, Villa Capri Cruisers, Coasters, Al from AJ's Automotive, Montage Mt Cruisers, Car Lovers Car Show Club, AACA Car Club & a Special Thank you to Mike & JoAnn from Coal Cracker Cruisers without whose help none of this would have been possible!  Its nice to see in this day and age someone going out of there way to help, again Thank you.

This is just the first draft of photos, (in the productions stage we will darken the sky & have a movie image on the big screen to simulate more of a Drive-in atmosphere) check back for updates along-the-way.

Vintage's Photo Journal 2012

Hi Fans,

Here is the blog post you've all been asking for!  Well its not really a blog as much as a photo retrospective of all the shows we've filmed so far in 2012.  They say a "Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words" in this case let's hope so, right!  As we start to edit the TV Show and head into production, we will keep posting pics here of the different shows we filmed.  So check back now and then to see if you or your ride made it on camera?

Update:  49 random pics so far and counting (not in any order) - 10/27/12

Photo: My dogs need this as their next ride. Why should humans have all the fun?            Photo: make up by christina-on set prepping Brendon for his debut    Photo: A big Thanks to Anthony Lammardo- John Gillen & Brendon Abbazio for all your help today!

Look Who We Ran into on Location at DMC: Dennis Gage from My Classic Car!

Photo: JC & Dennis Gage talking Hot Rods.

We were on our way to scout the DMC Show that we were filming on Saturday, so we took a detour because the event coordinators were throwing a Hot Rod party the Wednesday before just down the road in NJ.  Much to our surprise My Classic Car was filming this event.  I've always wanted to meet Dennis, after all we're in the same business except he is a blackbelt & I'm still waiting to get my yellowbelt! lol  What a great guy - we talked shop, cars, hot rods, shows, he gave me some tongue-in-cheek directing advice then followed it with the statement "but what do I know" and he even made fun of my little HD Hero2 GoPro camera.  He said your not going to film me with that are you?  Imagine my embarrisment Dennis Gage my professional idol thinks I film my show with this tiny HD Hero2 camera. UGH!!  I then explained that my film crews weren't coming to NJ till Saturday and I just always carry this little pocket camera with me cause you never know?  To fill my viewers in this is the camera we use for all the driving sequences and in-car videos, (its really a super camera by the way).  Even with all that he was still nice enough to give us a quick interview on camera, that really meant a lot to me since usually people in his position don't take the time out of their busy filming schedule to chat never mind give you an interview.  OK time to go off on a Movie tangent:  Filming Dennis under less than ideal conditions I felt like Will Ferrell's character in the Movie Step Brothers, he said in the movie that the reason he got Randy Jackson from American Idol to sign an unconventional item like his katana sword was "your not gonna not get Randy Jackson's signature are you" that's how I felt filming Dennis that day, it wasn't ideal because of the equipment but I'm not gonna not film Dennis, am I?  Long way to go I know to explain this bit but by now you know me.  So to sum it up; got to see not one but two great Hot Rod parties, filmed one for an episode of Vintage TV and met the MAN himself.  LIFE is GOOD!!!

Note: Below is a picture of the camera in-question, look at how small it is on the front of the surfboard to the left.

Photo: It's not often that someone in Dennis' position takes the time out of his busy filming schedule to talk shop. Thanks again Dennis!

Celebrity episodes: "Memories of your First Ride"

At Vintage TV we are always looking for something uniquely different for our viewers; about      6 months ago we embarked on the start of an episode based around celebrities and the first cars they had before they made it big.  We thought that would be an interesting episode and as a result have compiled many great interviews plus passionate testimony on just how important the automobile is in our lives!  Our first ride is something that is not only a vivid memory but something most of us hold truly dear!  Then I received an email from Jesse who has a really cool blog called "just a car guy" and he had several suggestions for our show, one of them was if I'd ever read a book by Matt Stone titled "My first Car" which was ironic given we were already working on a similar project.  I guess it is really true that there are no original ideas left anymore, lol.  I digress, anyway I read the book and then contacted Matt to see if we could use some of his celebrity stories too, I will let you know how that works out in a later update to this blog?  Now that you have the back story, here is Vintage's take on our episode.

We are going to get as many celebrity stories as we can for this episode and we are always looking for more, so if you have any ideas or have a celebrity that you know who would be interested in being on our show please contact us and we'll try and get their interview for the show.  Of course Vintage will put there own unique twist on this concept.

Next Update.......

Tony hard at work on the TV Show.

I thought everybody would appreciate a sneak-peek at what goes on behind closed doors to bring you, your favorite TV shows.  We take for granted the shows that stream into our homes everyday but never realize all the hard work and technology that has to be done behind the scenes to keep us entertained!  Hey, do I see Vintage on one of those monitors?

Tony, thanks for keeping us all entertained!

Time for me to rail against the machine!

Ok, I'm jumping up on my soap box to ask the question, are we for real in this country about seat-belt laws!?!  Come'on really, this is a pressing issue in today's society?  So let me get this straight I can ride a motorcycle with NO helmet, NO seat-belts, NO airbags but in a car surrounded by metal and full of airbags I have to wear a seat-belt to protect myself?  Am I a danger to society?  Ok don't answer that!  As an adult do I NOT have the ability to make my own decisions?   Or like in this South Park clip above will I get a ticket next if I don't wear a seat-belt on the john?  This is truly to much interference by our government, is it for our own good? or wait a minute is it just simply about the $$$$$$!!!  Whatever it is, I think it is Ridiculous and a total invasion of my privacy to boot!  Free will that's dead too and if you're wondering YES I did get a ticket! LOL

ICON A5 Sport Seaplane, Top Design.

This innovative new design is my top pick for best overall sport seaplane coming on to the market today.  This airplane can even be towed to water like a boat on a trailer!  You need only a sport pilots license not a standard private pilot single engine license, the benefit is less hours of classes more hours flying.  It even comes with an optional parachute for safety.  The price is all very reasonable for a craft of this kind at under $190,000. current market price.  If you want the coolest thing on water or air than your ship "pun intended"  has come in!

Vintage Gallery to Open in late 2013!

Vintage Gallery is finally under construction.  The location is 332 Main St Mathews, Va.  This will be a fun yet relaxed gathering place right off the Chesapeake bay in a beautiful untouched section of the Northern Neck.  There are far to many traditional car museums across the US, and that's fine but we're going in a different direction.  Like all of our ventures we aim to be different with an accent on reconnecting with the past yet enjoying the future.  This Gallery will be more inline with and Art Gallery than a car dealership.  I'm sure this venture will evolve and change through the whole process, we are always looking to make things better.  Sometimes you have to be into the heart of an idea before you can step back and be constructive with additional unseen directions of true improvement.  The parent company Majic has been in the car business since 1986.  We always felt that we wanted to give something back & this is the perfect way to do it.  Please check back with my Blog from time to time as there will be many updates over the next year and if you want to see more information about our family of companies please visit us at:

CRUZ'N on a Sunday afternoon.

My Favorite Car for Summer cruzing.  This is a 1949 Mercury Led-Sled.  Restomoded and chopped.  I love this car, doesn't it just make you want to get in and drive.  Some of my favorite drives are when I have nowhere in particular to go, just top down wind in your hair the sun on your face not a care in the world CRUZ'N!  That's also my favorite time to think, I think we could all use more times like that.  All of us right now just have to put down that boring work for today & just go for a drive, like the old days.  Forget about gas prices for one day and just enjoy how truly cool a car really is and if you don't own a convertible then you can come with me, I have 3 spots open first come first served.  Remember: "Vintage is never out of style".

New Television show starting this fall!

Vintage Gallery
Hey everyone our new show Vintage has just gotten the green light for production!  There will be plenty of updates in the coming months as the shows production progresses.  We are happy to have Greenleaf productions on-board with this venture. I'm really excited to do this show our way and to put out a show that should be entertaining for everyone; not another mindless reality show that insults your intelligence. Myself & my wife JC will be co-writing, executive producing and I will be directing.  So if the show stinks then its my fault I guess.  All kidding aside the show will be great and we appreciate any constructive input you may have to help make the show even better.  So send us your comments.  YouTube video teaser trailers should be loaded by the end of this week and I will post links for everyone soon.  Enjoy!

Jet-packs what happened?

I think we got side tracked with technology, what happened to our jet-packs?  I don't want our best minds thinking up stuff like twitter. Twitter really a short version of an email or text come-on people you're satisfied with that?  That's not the high-tech gadgetry I was promised as a child, no sir.  I thought I'd be strapping on my jet-pack and heading to my next meeting.  I thought we'd all be complaining by now about how crowded the skies are and waxing-back nostalgically about what it was like to drive to work everyday in a car.  And don't you readers out there say hey Mac we've got those jet-packs on water at least, because I say NO that's not a jet-pack if it has to have a hose attached. Where am I going with that I ask you.  So jet-pack scientists get on the stick because I really wanted one of those things.  Let's try recommitting yourselves to what's important and not coming up with another type of computer.

Well alas it isn't going to happen so I guess I'll just have to be happy with going 200 mph in a car, tough life I know.  I have issues!
